Interface type of HDMI
HDMI interface is divided into A, B, C, D,total 4 types. Type A (Type A) is the most common. General flat-screen TVs or video equipment provide interfaces of this size. Type A has 19 pins, width 13.9 mm, and thickness 4.45 mm. Devices that can be seen now 99% are all HDMI interfaces of this size.
Type B (Type B) is very rare. It has 29 pins and a width of 21 mm. The transmission bandwidth is almost double that of Type A. It is completely too "tough" in home applications, and is only used in some professional occasions.
Type C (Type C) was born for small devices. Its size is 10.42 × 2.4 mm, which is nearly 1/3 smaller than Type A, and its application range is very small.
Type D (Type D) is the latest type of interface, which has been further reduced in size. It has a double-row pin design with a size similar to the mini USB interface, which is more suitable for portable and automotive equipment.
Although the HDMI interfaces are different, the functions are the same. Generally, qualified HDMI interfaces have a plug-in life of no less than 5,000 times, and can be used for 10 years even plug in and plug out every day, which should be said to be very durable. It should be pointed out that HDMI can be backward compatible with the DVI interface. Through the commercially available HDMI-DVI adapter, you can connect some older DVI devices, because DVI also uses the TMDS method.
